The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of old gold brocaded silk which was worn by her maternal great grandmother, Harriett Kendall, when she became the bride of Cyrenus Wheeler one hundred years ago. The bride carried a colonial bouquet of old fashioned flowers. Her attendant, a sister, Mrs. Ruth Thompson of Battle Creek, Michigan, wore a gown that also belonged to their great grandmother. She, too, carried a colonial bouquet of old fashioned flowers.
The bride's mother wore a blue net frock with dusty pink accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. The bridegroom's mother wore a gray silk frock with lavender accessories and had a corsage of white rosebuds and lavender sweet peas.
Following the ceremony a wedding luncheon was served at Springside Inn after which Mr. and Mrs. Allison left for an extended trip through Canada. They will then spend sometime at Cape Cod. For traveling the bride wore a cadet blue costume suit with a hat to match and white accessories.
Mrs. Allison was graduated from Syracuse University and taught in Syracuse before she joined the faculty at Potsdam State Normal School. The bridegroom who was graduated from Phillips Exeter and from Dartmouth College is a professor at Clarkson College in Potsdam, where the couple will make their home.
