Robert Friedrich, 76, retired farmer, died at 6 p.m. Thursday, in his home, 8 N. Janesville street, after two weeks illness. Born Feb. 15, 1871, at Concord, Wis., Mr. Friedrich grew to manhood there and was married at Milton to Amanda Behnke, Sept. 30, 1896. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 30, 1946.
Mr. and Mrs. Friedrich lived on a farm near here until 20 years ago when he retired and moved to N. Janesville street. Mr. Friedrich was for many years president of the council of St. John Lutheran church and of the Men's club of the congregation.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Arthur Friedrich, route 2, Milton Junction; a daughter, Miss Mabel Friedrich, at home; two grandsons, Robert and Gerald Friedrich, Milton Junction; a brother, Harry Friedrich, Milton Junction; one sister, Mrs. Clarence Addie, Milton. A son, Howard Friedrich, died in 1919.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Phelps funeral home and at 2 o'clock in St. John Evangelical Lutheran church, with the Rev. H. C. Schumacher, officiating. Burial was in the Milton Cemetery.
