Plattsburgh - Victoria O. Harper, 80, formerly of Rugar Street, died Thursday, March 21, 1996, at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point.
She was born in Black Brook Jan. 16, 1916,the daughter of Eli and Mary (Trombley) LaFountain.
Mrs. Harper was a 1934 graduate of AuSable Forks High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, canning and was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Treadwells Mills.
She was married to Harry E. Harper June 30, 1936, at St. Matthews Church in Black Brook. He died in September 1993.
Survivors include a son, Joseph H. Harper of Plattsburgh; four daughters, and three sons-in-law, Harriet and Peter LaRock Jr.Doris and Kenneth Wilson, all of Plattsburgh,Joan and Peter Manion of Newark, NJ., and Joyce Breyette of Schuyler Falls; a brother, Oril LaFountain of Peru; four sisters, Mary Williams of Poultney, Vt., Cora LaBombard of Schenectady and Delphine Nelson and Lena Hart, both of AuSable Forks; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Church in Treadwells Mills. Burial will be later in the year in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
