Lilly Belle Horn (Johnson)

Lilly Belle Horn was born January 12, 1892 in Marshall County Indiana. At about the age of 6 years, she with her parents moved to Barron, Wisconsin, where her girlfriend days were spent and which was her home until the time of her marriage to August Johnson, also of Wisconsin, on Nov. 2, 1909. To this union nine children were born, three boys and six girls. One child, little Edith, preceeded her in death,
Thirteen years ago they came to North Dakota, and during the past 10 years have lived on the farm where they now reside, and where she passed away Monday, March 17, 1930 at age 38 years, 2 months and 5 days.
She is survived by her husband, August Johnson and children; Mrs. Oscar Shellem, Herman, Helen, Lillian Edith, Arnold, Emil and Bertha, the latter, a baby 3 months old; two grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. S. Zaiko of St. Paul, her father, John Horn of Rocherter, Ind; three sisters, Mrs. R. Rodes Atwood, Ind.; Mrs. Fred Berg, Hillsdale, Wis.; Mrs. C. Riste, St. Paul,; three brothers, Oliver Horn, Detroit, Mich,; Ed Horn, St. Paul,; Albert Horn, Hillsdale, Wis. and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the hall in Hanks Thursday, March 20, at two o'clock, Rev. G. Cox officiating. A large concourse of friends followed the casket to Grenora where internment was made.
Mrs. Johnson was a kind friend and a good neighbor, always ready and willing to help in tine of trouble or sickness. She will be greatly missed. The heart felt sympathy of the entire community goes out to the sorrowing family.

To the Helping Hand Club for all the thougtful kindness; to the Hanks school and all others who contributed the lovely flowers; to Mr. A.B. Anderson; to Rev. G. Cox for his comforting words; to the singers for their comfort and hope; and to all those friends and neighbors who in any way helped us at this time of sadness.
