Daughter of Abraham Troyer and Amanda Kuhns Troyer;

Wife of Amon William Birky, married October 30, 1913


Birky, Katie Elizabeth, daughter of Abraham and Amanda Kuhns Troyer, was born in Goehner, Nebraska on November 19, 1895; She died of an apparent heart attack at Albany, Oregon on September 30, 1983; aged 87 years of age.


On October 30, 1913, she was married to Amon W. Birky, who survives.


Also surviving are 2 sons (Dale and Glen Birky), 4 daughters (Lola Nofziger, Lois-Mrs. Irvin Gerig, Faye-Mrs. Howard Claassen, and Stella-Mrs. Chris Schantz), 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, also 2 brothers (Roy and Ray Troyer). She was preceded in death by 2 sons, one daughter, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers.


She was a member of Fairview Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on October 4, in charge of Roy E. Hostetler and Clarence Gerig.


Interment in Fairview Church Cemetery.
