The earliest part of the old burying ground near Fairhaven Village was on the Church family's property and Caleb Church is believed to have been the first one buried there. His remains, as well as those of other family members, were removed to Riverside Cemetery prior to the construction of the Fairhaven Branch Railroad.

He married September 21, 1751, Mercy Pope 1729 - 1780.
