At the age of 20, Lois enrolled in the U.S. Military during the Korean War Conflict. Lois served until 1955 and returned to Lubbock, Texas in 1960 working for Plains Co-op. Over the next 40 years, Mr. Bass was self-employed. He enjoyed life to the fullest and spending time with his friends and family.
Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Sykes Bass and Verna Bass; one brother, Charles Ray Bass; one daughter, Norma Tutt; and one son, Tim Bass.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Sarah and Yolunda; sons, Totsey, Rickey, Anthony, Jeffrey, Thomas, Randy and Myron; sisters, Ossie Williams, Margaret Jenkins and Deloris Haggerty; brothers, Harold and James; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Wesley Memorial Church. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held today, June 28, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary.
