LONG, ELMER (BIG DADDY) DWIGHT - age 67, of South Knoxville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 24, 2013.

Dwight was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, and was retired from TVA and a Vietnam veteran, where he served in the United States Navy.

He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and attended South Knoxville Church of God. Preceded in death by father, Elmer Theodore Long.

Dwight is survived by wife of 46 years, Gail Long; son, Roger Long; mother, Lorene Long; sisters, Charlotte Landreth and Connie Harmon and husband, Jerry; special brother-in-law, Ronnie Grayson; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at South Knoxville Church of God, with a home going service to follow at 8:00 p.m., Rev. Robert Branch and Rev. Tom Aiken officiating.

Family and friends will meet Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Bays Mountain Cemetery, Bays Mountain Road, for a 12:00 noon interment service. Pallbearers will be Roger Long, Roger Crusenberry, Ronnie Grayson, David Caughorn, Tim Snodderly and Jerry Harmon. Full military honors will be provided by US Navy.
