INJURY ENDS LIFE OF MRS. ELLA BLACK
Fall sustained Aug. 23 causes death
Mrs. Ella S. Black, 76, widow of the late Fred B. Black, died at the family home, 261 West Fifth Street at 11:30 a.m. Sunday following an illness of four weeks.
Mrs. Black suffered a hip fracture in a fall at the home on August 23. The injury and complications which set in afterwards resulted in her death.
Mrs. Black was a life long resident of Mansfield. She was born here on February 3, 1856 in the home where she succumbed Sunday. Her husband preceded her in death 43 years ago. Mrs. Black was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Ruth Chapter Order of Eastern Stars, Naomi Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem and the Lady Rebeccas.
She is survived by two sons, Judd and Joseph Black, three grandsons, Paul, Robert and Frank Black all of Mansfield; two sisters, Mrs. P. W. Purtell, Columbus and Mrs. John Berry, Mansfield and one brother, Albert Smith, Pittsburg, Pa.
Funeral Services will be held at Finefrock Mortuary at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Dr. H. S. Garnes, pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Burial will be made in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the late home until noon on Tuesday.
