Dewey R. Keener, 72, of Herold Route, Sutton, died Tuesday in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston.
He was a retired employe of the West Virginia Department of Highways and was a member of Eakle Community Church.
Mr. Keener was a lifelong resident of Braxton County.
Surviving: wife, India Anderson Keener; sons, Russell of Akron, OH, Jackie George and Dewey Jr., all of Sutton; daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hyer of Parkersburg, Mrs. Nell Jane James of Manassas, VA, Mrs. Jean Squires of Pittsburgh, PA, Mrs. Mary Jo Kniceley, Mrs. Geneva Green and Mrs. Rose Ann Dennison, all of Sutton; sisters, Mrs. Bitha Welch of Sutton, Mrs. Ida Reynolds of Lockport, NY, Mrs. Pearl Conley of Greentown, OH: 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreatgrandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Eakle Community Church, Herold Route, Sutton, with the Rev. Robert Robison officiating. Burial will be in Braxton County Cemetery,
Rt. 1, Sutton.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton.
The body will be taken to the church and hour before the service.
