Mr. Hale graduated from Hart High School in the Class of 1956 and served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961. He was a press operator and die setter at Valley City Metal until his retirement in 1999. He was an avid fisherman.
Jup is survived by a step-son, Charles S. (Linda) Thrailkill of Hart; one sister, Lottie Hale, and one brother, Raymond Hale, both of Hart; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Hale of Ludington; and two granddaughters, Amy Robbins of Muskegon and Jamie Sayer of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Hale; a step-grandson, Cory Robbins; and a niece, Theresa Hale.
The Funeral Service for Mr. Hale was Monday, July 1, 2013, from the King Funeral Home with the Rev. Rebecca Wieringa officiating.
