Sebastian [jr] was the fourth of thirteen children born to Sebastian & Anna Maria "Maria" (Kammermeier) Guggenberger, Sr. He immigrated to America with his parents in 1887 and they initially settled in the Collegeville area of Stearns County.

On 22 September 1911, Sebastian [jr] married Amalia Eve "Molly" (Minnerath) at Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN; he was age 25, she was 23. "Molly was the seventh of twelve children born to Michael C. & Elizabeth (Braun) Minnerath.

Initially he tried his hand as a brewery engineer, but then turned to farming to farming in the Wakefield (Township) area of Stearns County. A hardworking husband & father of twelve, Sebastian died at age 66.
