Eloise Coggin, died at the age of 84 on March 12, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Reno, Nev., surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Ellis Coggin of Loyalton; daughter, Melinda of Chilcoot; grandchildren, Jeff of Sacramento, Steve, Christine and Jason all of Reno, Nev., Matt of Roseville and Doug of Chilcoot; sisters, Shirley, Connie and Rebecca, all of Yuba City and Grass Valley; along with 12 great- grandchildren. Eloise is preceded in death by her daughter, Diana McKeand and grandson, Marty McGough. Eloise was born in Bon Ami, La. on Jan. 12, 1921. She moved to California at the age of 5. She married Ellis Coggin in 1940 and they had 64 years together. She lived in Chilcoot for most of her long and productive life. Eloise will be remembered as a sweet, caring, nurturing person by her family and friends who loved her dearly. Family was the most important thing to her and she was a wonderful homemaker. She will be sorely missed by all, but we know that she will be a wondrous addition to the angels above. Visitation was held at Manni Funeral Home in Portola on March 17, followed by a funeral service on March 18 at the Loyalton Community Church in Loyalton. Burial followed at Chilcoot Cemetery in Chilcoot. Services were under the direction of Manni Funeral Home in Portola.
