John Patrick Traylor

John Patrick Traylor, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at his daughter's residence. He was 72.

Funeral services for Mr. Traylor will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Reverend Jerry Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Madrid City cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to; Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.

Mr. Traylor was born December 24, 1940 in Madrid, Alabama to John A. and Eunice Garrard Traylor. He joined the United States Army and retired as a Command Sergeant Major after 30 years of Honorable service. Following his retirement he worked with Quinetiq North America for 24 years. Mr. Traylor was a Master Mason and enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Traylor is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mildred Jenkins, Mary Clyde Tyson; two brothers, Lloyd Traylor and Eugene Traylor.

Survivors include his two daughters and their husbands, Melissa Cureton and Roger, Teresa Medley and Richard, all of Dothan; three grandchildren, John Cureton, Colton Cureton and Kala Medley; brother, Bobby and Janie Traylor, Dothan; mother of his children, Martha Sue Traylor, Dothan.
