MONTICELLO….Funeral services for Mrs. J.H. (Marie H.) Hinrichs, 71, were held at Wayne Zion Lutheran church, rural Monticello, Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
Interment was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson officiated.
Mrs. Hinrichs died at John McDonald hospital Saturday after a brief illness. Marie Henrietta Heiken, known as Hattie, was born near Monticello June 23, 1899, the daughter of Albert and Elise Eiben Heiken.
She was married to John Henry Hinrichs Aug 20, 1919, and the couple farmed in Wayne Township until 1955. They had made their home in Monticello since that time.
Mrs. Hinrichs is survived by her husband; four children, Wilbur J. of Phoenix, Ariz., Raymond E. and Paul H., both of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Baumann, Monticello; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Also surviving are four sisters, Caroline Heiken, Emma Heiken and Mrs. Sam Rhatigan of Monticello and Mrs. Leonard Suschsland of Milwaukie, Ore.; three brothers, Ernest Heiken of Coggon, Louis Heiken of Monticello, and Harvey Heiken of Fresno, Calif.
She was preceded in death by a daughter.
Casket bearers were Robert Husman, Robert Rhatigan, Abbott Mayer, Albert H. Oltmanns, Ludwig Oltmanns and Norman Hinrichs.
