Dock retired from ABF Truck Lines as a mechanic after serving his country in WW II as a US Army aircraft mechanic. An active member of The Refuge Christian Center in Asheville, Dock's unwavering faith in God was evident in the way he lived his life. He was a shining example of Christianity. His peaceful, patient nature made him the greatest husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who ever lived. In his later years, everyone knew him as "Granddaddy", for he was a loving, kind man to all.
Burial will be in the McGuire Family Cemetery on Long's Chapel Road.
