Funeral services for James A. Kautz, 88, of Carlisle, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Myers Funeral Home, 37 E. Main St., Mechanicsburg.
He died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998 in ManorCare East.
Born May 14, 1910 in Harrisburg, the son of the late J. Frank and Florence Mary Stewart Kautz, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving aboard the USS Randolph in the South Pacific.
He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, New Kingstown and American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsburg.
Mr. Kautz is survived by his wife, Sovilla "Bille" Zimmerman Kautz; four sons, James W. of Newville, John A., Donald R. and Thom W., all of Carlisle; four daughters, Mary C. Walker of Seven Valleys, Donna L. Reinard of Carlisle, Florence M. "Dollie" Zell and Carol A. Shenk,both of Mechanicsburg; a brother, Morris E. of Dauphin; a sister, Ida Kennedy of Harrisburg; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Township.
