SHREWSBURY Emma I. Lambert, 88, died Friday, February 23, 2007, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Paul P. Lambert. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom, with the Rev. Mitchell C. Hescox officiating There will be a viewing on Tuesday at the mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Freeland, Md. She was born on October 29, 1918, in Baltimore County, Md., a daughter of the late John and Lillian (Ashe) Hale. Formerly of Bentley Springs, Md., Mrs. Lambert was a dedicated homemaker. She attended Bentley Springs United Methodist Church in Parkton, Md., where she sang and played the piano. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers. She is survived by two sons, Joseph E. Lambert and his wife, Helen of Taneytown, Md., and James J. Lambert and his wife, Mary Lou of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren; Felicia, Joyce, Paula, Jennifer, Laura, Jamie and Travis; nine great-grandchildren, Nicole, Morgan, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Karah, Emily, Madysen, Lindsey and Gabriella; a brother, Weldon Hale; and numerous nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl K. Lambert; a son, P. Franklin Lambert; three brothers, John, Dick and Roy; and three sisters, Jane, Alice and Avis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bentley Springs United Methodist Church, 419 Bentley Road, Parkton, MD 21120.
