Born in Abbeville, January 10, 1921, she was a daughter of the late John and Martha Frances Smith Howard.
Mrs. Hawkins retired from Greenwood Mills – Mathews Plant and was a member of Abbeville Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Bobbie Townsend and husband, Robert of Hodges; a daughter-in-law, Mary Sims of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Barry Sims; a daughter, Judy Zeitlman; a granddaughter, Angie Townsend; two brothers, Louis Howard and Rayford Howard; and three sisters, Mary Lee Bowie, Vera Wilson and Orene Young.
Funeral services were conducted from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ray Massey officiating.
Burial followed in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
