Wesley B. Mumper, 95, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013. He was born on February 12, 1918, in Lewistown, to the late Albert and Carolyn Mumper. He married Virginia White in 1941 and served in the Army during WWII. Upon his return, they moved from Lewistown to York in 1953 and then to Jacksonville, Fla., in 1966. He was a long-time member of Mandarin United Methodist Church.

Wes was a successful business owner in Pennsylvania and Jacksonville, owning a service station for many years and then owning a plant nursery. After retirement, he worked for his church, where he was much loved by the staff and the children in the preschool.

Wes was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Virginia A. Mumper, and brother, Cloyd Mumper [1914-1977]. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Sylvia Mumper; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Christopher Lawrence; grandchildren, Kris Stremmel, Jeff Mumper, Julie Holt, Katie Estes, John Moore, Johnna Ferry, and Rebecca Feliciano; great-grandchildren, Devin Mumper, Madison Mumper, Katelyn Mumper, Matthew Estes, Molly Estes, Jess Stremmel, Max Wertman, Isaac Moore, Gryffin Moore, Christopher Ferry, Steven Ferry, Matthew Ferry, Stephanie Ferry, Allison Jordan, Sam Jordan, Cody Jordan, Isabella Feliciano, Luis Feliciano, and Sophia Feliciano.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek retirement community, with Chaplain Chris Lawrence officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The I. M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin

Wesley is a direct descendant of Georg Michael (1723-1807) and Anna Margretha (1719-1795) MUMPER. The vast majority of Mumpers, listed here at FindAGrave and otherwise residing in the United States, consider Georg Michael to be the common patriarch.
