Elda K. (Knepp) Jones, 63, of Longs Gap Road, Carlisle, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, in the Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.
Born May 5, 1941, in Mapleton Depot, she was a daughter of Mary I. (Harshbarger) Knepp and the late Melvin M. Knepp.
Mrs. Jones was a 1959 graduate of the former Captain Jack High School, Mt. Union, and a graduate of Lancaster Bible College. She was an administrative assistant for the Community Baptist Church in Carlisle until her retirement after 17 years.
She was a member of the Child Evangelism Fellowship and a volunteer teacher.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her mother; her husband of 38 years, David F. Jones; three daughters, Melinda "Mindy" Foltz of Mt. Holly; Debbie Shoemaker of Mechanicsburg and Carole Blacksmith of Carlisle; a son, D. Alan Jones of Carlisle; a sister, Louise Bard of Huntingdon; a brother, Melvin "Sonny" Knepp of Huntingdon; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Aubrey Blacksmith.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Community Baptist Church, 360 York Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Sandy Adams Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
