Horace P. Lemoine, age 91, of Moreauville, died at Oakmont Estates in Mansura, Louisiana on Friday, October 14, 2005 at 6 a.m.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Neda Plauche Lemoine; daughter, Patricia Dufour; and son, Michael Lemoine.
He is survived by four sons, Penn A. Lemoine and wife Jackie, Leon P. Lemoine and wife Veatrice of Moreauville, Stanley J. Lemoine and Angela of Mansura and Wayne T. Lemoine of Plaucheville; two daughters, Mary L. Bonnette and husband Daniel of Moreauville and Melissa L. Guillory and husband Vincent of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Horace was a building contractor since the early 1950's. He served as an usher with Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was an active member with the Moreauville Council Knights of Columbus. He also donated much of his time and efforts to Sacred Heart School. During WWII, he was a volunteer with the United States Coast Guard and was also a member of the local American Legion Roy & Earl Post #296.
He led an active lifetime of being a tremendous supporter, caretaker and advisor. He provided stability and assistance to those who confided in him. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
