Fern R. Elliott, 95, of Lewisburg, formerly of Winfield, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.

She was born Nov. 6, 1917, in Swengel, the daughter of the late Ray and Ida (Zechman) Ruhl. On May 30, 1942, in New Berlin, she married Harry L. Elliott, who preceded her in death on May 23, 2003. Together, they shared 61 years of memories.

Fern graduated from Mifflinburg High School, Class of 1935.

She worked for many years at J.J. Newberry's in Lewisburg.

She was a member of Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.

Fern enjoyed doing crochet and boating with her family. Her family was the purpose and joy of her life.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Patricia Elliott, of Lewisburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol J. and Daniel Bower, of Elimsport, and Betty Jane and Roger Shoemaker, of Millmont; one brother, Fred Ruhl, of Williamsport; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester L. Voneida, in 1939; three brothers, Robert, Harold and Eugene Ruhl; and one great-grandson, Breck Eugene, in infancy.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11 with the Rev. William S. Henderson officiating.

Interment will be in Mifflinburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Fern's memory may be made to the RiverWoods Benevolent Fund, 3201 River Road, Lewisburg, Pa 17837, or Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third St., Lewisburg, PA 17837.
