Revolutionary War Soldier

He married, first, at Londonderry,NH on Jun 1,1747, Margaret Thompson. She died at Colrain,MA before 1770.

He married, second, at Colrain,MA, Hannah Hescock. She died in 1824, probably at White Creek,NY.

He came to Colrain,MA from Londonderry,NH before 1752, and settled 200 rods north of the meetinghouse, and directly east of the old covered bridge at the "Sammon Hole". He sold this lot in 1770 and removed to Halifax,VT, and later went to Bennington,VT, and finally White Creek,NY. He died there at the age of 100 years, 1 month, and 5 days.

Children(by first marriage): Susan Stewart, Mary Stewart, Joseph Stewart Jr, John Stewart, and Alexander Stewart.
