Jimmy R. "Paw Paw" Maxwell, age 71, of Bivins, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in a Texarkana, Texas, hospital.

Jimmy was born October 4, 1941, in Atlanta, Texas. He was employed with Lone Star Steel for twenty-seven years and retired the National Guard and from Powell Plant Farm in 2009. He was a member of Bethsaida "Y" Baptist Church; Jim's Bayou Masonic Lodge; Order of the Eastern Star; and was a Shriner. Jimmy enjoyed gardening, sports, hunting, fishing, a good western book and above all attending any and every event his grandkids participated in. He was preceded in death by his parents, R. F. "Cracker" and Geraline Maxwell; his wife, Helen Maxwell; son-in-law, Trooper Scott Burns; and a granddaughter, Brandy Maxwell Baker Smith.

He is survived by two sons, Todd Maxwell of Bivins, Texas, Mike Maxwell and wife Tammy of Atlanta, Texas; one daughter, Michaela Burns of Houston, Texas; one brother, Gary Lynn Maxwell and wife Diana of Bivins, Texas; one sister, Mary Gale Maxwell and husband Adrian Ledermann of Brandon, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Morgan Maxwell, Emily Maxwell, Jordan Maxwell, Micah Burns; two great-grandchildren, Bailee Baker, Kynlee Smith; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 29, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Queen City, Family Life Center, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. Wayne Shew officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, June 28, 2013, from 6pm to 8 pm, at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in Laws Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
