The son of George Feild and Elizabeth Bolling Stith of Mecklenburg County, VA. A prominent physician, he married Frances Blount Littlejohn on February 20, 1841 and settled in the Elberon community of Warren County, NC in 1847. They acquired "Roseland", which had been the home of the Thomas Spruill family, and renamed it "Glenwood". They had ten children. Following Dr. Feild's death, "Fannie Blount", as she was known, lived at Glenwood for 54 years until her death in 1901. She and Dr. Feild were both buried in the family cemetery, which was located about 500 yards from the home. Believed for years to have been plowed and planted over, the cemetery was found in 2012 in a small overgrown thicket. Fallen stones have been repaired and reset, and the cemetery cleared of debris and overgrowth. No stones were found for Dr. Feild and Fannie Blount, but their burial there has been verified by newspaper obituaries and the church Burial Register.
