He was employed by Lord corporation from 1965 until his retirement as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 1986. Jerry served in the US Army during WWII, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in business and received his masters from Case Western Reserve. He was a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Executives Institute and the Lord Corporation Retirees Group. Mr. Johnson's involvement in the Boy Scouts covered over 40 years and he was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award and the St. George Medal. Jerry enjoyed golf, bowling and traveling.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis, and two brothers, Elmer and Harry and a sister DeRonda (d age 7 months, whooping cough).
Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Wimer Johnson, a son, Tom Johnson of Waldorf, Md. and four daughters, Deronda Harris and husband, Jim , of Marion, Ind., Bernie Billen and husband, Michael, of Pleasanton, Calif., Cynthia Johnson and husband Steve Miller of East Calais, VT and Mary Lou DiFuccia and husband , Frank of Hondo, Texas. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He lived a long beautiful life enriched by his strong spirit, which lives on in all of us who loved him.
