Charles Archer "Charlie" Bagwell was born on September 5, 1859 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, the son of Samuel Pleasant Bagwell and Wilianna Davenport Goodman. [NOTE: His Death Certificate lists her name as Walena Goodwin.]

He was married about 1899 in Kentucky to Nora Hilda Burnett (1870-1945), the daughter of William W Burnett (1832-1880) and Izora Ophelia Darliska Drennan (1841-1919).

A farmer, he died of nephritis on August 20, 1924 in Murray, Calloway County, Kentucky and was buried the next day in Burnetts Chapel Cemetery.
