Poet. He was the fiancé of Vera Brittain. He was aged 19, a Lieutenant in the 1st/7th Bn., Worcestershire Regiment and the son of Robert and Marie Connor Leighton. Postmaster of Merton College, Oxford. He died from wounds sustained during World War I. The poem "Perhaps" by Vera Brittain is dedicated to him.
