Karl Karren

Karl Dalves Karren was born September 17, 1926.

He returned to his Heavenly Father on June 25, 2013.

He was born to John Hugh and Mary Ellen Smuin Karren in Vernal, Utah.

He married Donna Rose Gardiner on June 30, 1951. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 20, 1965.

Karl loved spending time with his wife, married for 60 years and loving every minute of it. He loved the time he spent with his whole family.

He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the 186th Infantry.

He worked most of his adult life at American Gilsonite as a welder and fabricator. He retired at the age of 75.

Karl enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling to Alaska and Yellowstone.

He had a great talent for woodworking and drawing wildlife.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and served in many callings.

He is survived by his children; Arlinda (David) Hicken, Karla (Alan) Fowels, Paula (Brent) McClure, Karl (Beth) Karren, and Dalves (Wendy) Karren, brother-in-laws; Gail (Ellen) Gardiner, Chester (Juanita) Gardiner, sister-in-law; Connie (Lew) Mitchell, 18 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers; John, Earl, and George Ivan Karren, sisters; Martha Karren and Mirl (Harold) Kendall, and sister-in-law; Ferris Lee (Richard) Stack.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davis 1st Ward LDS Chapel with viewings Friday evening from 6-8 at the Vernal Mortuary and 1 hour prior to services at the chapel.

Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with military honors by the American Legion Post 124 and 11 and the Utah Army National Guard. Services are entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
