Charles Luther Self

Charles Luther (Snake) Self of Sweetwater, passed away at 4:45 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, at Blount Memorial Hospital, after a short illness. He retired from Vestal Manufacturing in Sweetwater, after 30 years of service. He was a member of North Sweetwater Baptist Church.
He was 67.
Preceded in death by: parents, Lawson and Sarah McMahan Self; daughter, Sharon Dixon; two infant siblings; stepmother, Geneva Self; son-in-law, Tony Seargeant; and father-in-law, Charlie Burris.
Survivors include: wife of 49 years-Eureva Burris Self;
Daughter-Donna Seargeant of Madisonville;
Granddaughter and husband-Heather and Dennis Presley;
Great-grandchildren-Bethany and Gage Presley;
Sister-Gertrude Sewell, all of Athens;
Brothers and sisters-in-law-Tommy and Willie Self of Madisonville; and Carl and Pam Self of Vonore;
Several nieces and nephews;
Mother-in-law-Rhea Burris of Ball Play;
Brothers-in-law and sister-in-law-Millard (Buddy) and Mae Burris of Tellico Plains; and Dale Burris of Cohutta, Ga.
Graveside service and interment will be 11 a.m., Friday, at Ebenezer Cemetery, Ball Play, with the Revs. Jimmy Jackson and Verlin Self officiating. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, in charge of arrangements.
