John Henry Sr. 6/14/1918-5/31/2013 John was born to Fred and Lucy Bridenbaugh and raised in Toledo, Ohio. After high school he attended the University of Toledo. During college John married Ruth Larberg. They had a son named John Jr. Then he was drafted into the Army during World War II. He was awarded four medals for his outstanding service in the war. Afterwards he returned to Toledo where he and Ruth had three more children, Jim, Carolyn and Judy. John was self-employed for more than forty years as a real estate broker, a home improvement contractor, a home builder and as an auctioneer. He enjoyed playing musical instruments, traveling, hunting, fishing, scuba diving, and boating. John enjoyed Ruth's companionship while doing these activities. Ruth passed away after fifty five years of marriage in 1998. John married Evelyn Best several years later. She passed away in 2006. John then moved to Oregon to live with his daughter, Carolyn. He was a member of the Toledo Real Estate Investors Association, as well as other sports and business organizations. John is survived by children, Jim (Deb), Carolyn (Malek), and Judy (Borik); five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by son, John Jr. Remembrances may be made to the Lucas County Veterans Burial Corps at 3208 133rd St., Toledo, Ohio 43611. A graveside service will be held at the Forest Cemetery in Toledo on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. {Published in Toledo Blade on June 23, 2013}
