John I. Lewis, 79, died January 24, 1956 at the home of his son, William Lewis, at Pulaski. He was a native of Williamstown and was a resident of Rome. His funeral was held Saturday at the B. A. Sanborn and Son Funeral home, Camden, with interment in Fairview cemetery, Williamstown. Surviving Relatives Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jennie Braley Lewis, Williamstown; five sons, William at whose home he died, John of Fulton, Robert of Fernwood, Herbert of Pulaski and Donald Lewis of Lacona; six daughters, Mrs. Marvin Vincent of Mexico, Misses Elsie and Carol Lewis, Mrs. Ralph March, Mrs. Russell Cates and Mrs. Bryan Groton all of Fulton; 10 grandchildren.
Mr. Lewis was born July 24, 1876, the son of John S. and Adeline Bates Lewis. He married the former Jennie Braley June 24, 1911. He was a mason and bricklayer by trade and lived at 934 W. Dominick street while in Rome
