Mrs. Wagoner was born July 24, 1932, in Hendricks County. She was the daughter of the now late Otis L. and Mary Jane (Smith) Armstrong. She was raised and educated in Hendricks County.
She married Charles Eugene "Gene" Wagoner on Oct. 16, 1948, in Lebanon. Gene passed away on April 9, 1989.
Mrs. Wagoner had lived in Lebanon since her marriage. For many years, she worked as a CMA for health care facilities including Lebanon Nursing Home and Colonial Crest in Indianapolis. For 17 years, she worked at Parkwood Heath Care in Lebanon. She retired in June 1994.
Her hobbies included flowers and painting in her younger years. She loved to camp and fish.
Survivors include three children, Mary Jean Wilson of Lebanon, Carl Thomas Wagoner of Jamestown and Steven Ray Wagoner of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Stacey L. Williams and Carl Thomas Wagoner Jr., both of Indianapolis, Kevin Lee (Holly) Fields of Lebanon, and Amy Jean Wilson of Lafayette; three great- grandchildren, Jarod Fields and Aaron Fields, both of Lebanon, and Jacob Williams of Indianapolis; and one niece and several nephews.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two brothers, Milburn L. Armstrong and James Armstrong; and four sisters, June Johnson, Mildred Scott, Dorothy Scott and Janie Culley.
Visitation is 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Gene Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon.
