Fred Caldwell, 89, of Stollings, formerly of Dehue, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, at his home.

Born April 28, 1924, in Elliott County, Ky., he was a son of the late Wesley and Della Triplett Caldwell.

Fred worked for 34 years as a coal miner for Youngstown Sheet & Tube at Dehue. He was a devoted husband and father and loved to garden. Fred was a generous man and will be missed by many, especially his devoted niece, Jennifer Stollings of Charleston.

Also preceding him in death was his beloved wife of 67 years, Sylvia Mae Caldwell, son, Roger Lee Caldwell, sisters, Gladys Blevins, Beatrice Wells, Opal Pennington and Ines Jewell Stover, and one brother, Cecil Caldwell.

Survivors include his sons, Gary (Judy) Caldwell of Stollings and Danny (Linda) Caldwell of Stuarts Draft, VA., one grandchild, Natalie Miller, and one great-grandchild, Luke Miller, both of Stollings, sisters, Juanita (Don) Fields and Mable Caldwell, both of Ashland, Ky., and Patty Sue Mackley of Sunbury, OH., and one brother, Clifford (Ruth) Caldwell of Lodi, OH.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Honaker Funeral Home, with Pastors Donnie Wells and Robbie Gollihue officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
