~Billy Autry Coffey~
Billy Autry Coffey, 45, of League City, Texas, died Wednesday, May 30, 1984 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Born March 22, 1939, in Catawba County, Mr. Coffey was a son of Mrs. Willie Mae Fulbright Coffey of Granite Falls and the late Paul Milton Coffey.
Mr. Coffey was retired from the army and had seen action in both the Korean and Viet Nam wars. After his military service, he was employed in the oil industry working on off-shore drilling platforms.
In addition to the mother, Mr. Coffey is survived by his wife, a son, five brothers, three sisters and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ollie Coffey of Granite Falls.
A military funeral was held Saturday, June 2, at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Burial was in Pinecrest Cemetery.
