Musician. The younger sister of blues musician Taj Mahal, she moved to France in 1979 with the hope of pursuing a singing career. A versatile performer, she sang in both French and English, and became an icon in the contemporary music scene. In 1996, she releases her first solo album, "Springfield" named after her hometown in Western Massachusetts and dedicated to her mother. Three years later she releases her second and last opus "Couleurs et Parfums." She died of a heart attack while on tour in Senegal, West Africa.
