Daughter of Arvy Jaggers and Ruby Beatrice Clymers. Wife of Estel C. Baker.

MARION: Mabel Louise Baker, age 80, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at 9:06 p.m. in the Riverside Hospital, Columbus.

She was born on October 27, 1930 in Hart Co., KY, to the late Arvy and Ruby Beatrice (Clymer) Jaggers. She was a member of the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church on Orton St. M. Louise married Estel C. Baker on May 8, 1948 in Greenup, KY, and they have been soul mates for 63 years. Five children were born to their union, Sherry (Dillard) Smith of Cardington, Evonda (Michael) Markley of Marion, Teresa A. Baker of Marion, Mary L. Johnson of Chesterville, OH, and Estel C. Baker Jr. of Marion. She has 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. M. Louise is also survived by two sisters, Florence Adeline McKelvy & Mary Alice Skaggs of Louisville, KY; a brother, Gordon Ray Jaggers of Marion; a very close sister-in-law, Shirley Thompson of Marion; numerous dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted, Paul, & Otis Jaggers of Hodgenville, KY; and a grandson, Ronald Lee Welch Jr.

M. Louise enjoyed sewing, gardening, art, bible study, singing, canning, and carpentry work around her home. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed attending church and singing in the choir. She was loved and respected by all.

Friends may call at the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church on Friday, July 1, 2011, from 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church with burial to follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Ed Moore, Rev. Jim McIntire, and Rev. Fred Buckner. Her grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
