Nettie Bell "Granny' Pearson, age 80, 102 Tollett St., Hampton, died Thursday, June 2, 2005 at her residence following an extended illness. She formerly resided at 162 Brimer Rd., Elizabethton. A native of Johnson County, Mrs. Pearson was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Presnell Harmon. She was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church and attended Long Hollow Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Pearson was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne Pearson, one granddaughter, Rachel Pearson, two daughters-in-law, Debbie Pearson, Deborah Pearson and one son-in-law, Bob Culbertson. Survivors include two daughters and one son-on-law, Mary and Jim Huffman, Donna Culbertson, all of Hampton, four sons and three daughters-in-law, Harrell and Carolyn Pearson, Elizabethton, Robert and Donna Pearson, Gary Pearson, Larry and Brenda Pearson, all of Hampton, nineteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. She also cared for and is survived by several foster children. The funeral service for Mrs. Pearson will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 5, in the Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace with Rev. Russell Potter officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, in Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Johnson County. Those attending are asked to meet at the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday prior to the service in the chapel or at other times at the residence of a daughter, Donna Culbertson, 102 Tollett St., Hampton. Active pallbearers will be Dusty Smith, Benjamin Pearson, Jessee Culbertson, Johnny Eggers, Travis Orloff and Tommy Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Derrick Byrd, Johnny Karnes, Daniel Thomas, Eric Pearson, Charles Owens, Don Byrd and the members of Long Hollow Missionary Baptist Church.
