Harvey Fowler, 88, of Niland passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010.
Harvey Fowler, was born November 19, 1922 to Harvey and Alameda Fowler in Joplin MO. In 1936 he married the love of his life, Lillian Beatrice Watson. They had eight children, 6 boys and 2 girls. Jerry Fowler, Richard Fowler, David Fowler, Melvin Fowler, Dean Fowler, Brenda Fowler, and Coffee Linda Fowler.
He went to Lincoln school in Missouri. He loved to fish; then he would share his catch with us all. He was the first African American boy to sell newspapers in Joplin Missouri. He was a hardworking man. He was a carpenter and built an apartment building. I'll tell you, Sandford and Son had nothing on him, he had a lot of stuff. He was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather and great, great-grandfather.
He is survived by 6 children, Jerry Fowler of California, Melvin Fowler of California, David Fowler of California, Dean Fowler of California, Brenda Fowler of California, Coffee Correa of California. He was a proud grandfather, great-grandfather and great, great-grandfather; brothers, Pete Fowler of California, Sol Fowler of Missouri; sisters, Mary Logan of California, and Laura Brown of Missouri. He also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, in-laws, cousins and friends.
HE WILL BE MISSED……
