Tragic Death of Deaver Youth

It was a terrible tragedy that happened at Deaver this morning.
Carrol, the 7-year-old son of Mr. And Mrs. Maynard Bean, who live in Deaver, was shot in the head as he was standing watching his father cleaning a 32-caliber revolver. He was only six feet away from his father, who didn’t seem to see him. Somehow the weapon was discharged and the steel bullet struck the boy high on his forehead and came out the back of the skull just above the neck.
The accident happened at the family home at about 8:15, soon after all had eaten breakfast.
The parents brought their injured son to Powell for treatment at the Coulston clinic, but Dr. Coulston informs the Tribune that there was little he could do for the boy. He was bleeding internally as well as externally. He failed to regain consciousness and died 3 1/2 hours after the bullet hit him.
County Coroner Ray Easton has the body of the Bean boy at his undertaking rooms, where he awaits plans for the funeral and burial.
