JACOB McGAVOCK DICKINSON IV, 53, of Memphis, criminal defense lawyer, died of cancer Monday at Saint Francis Hospital. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal Church with burial at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. Mr. Dickinson, the husband of Chesley Dickinson, also leaves a daughter, Hannah Taylor Dickinson, and two sons, Henry Thompson Dickinson and Jackson McGavock Dickinson, all of Memphis; his parents, Elizabeth Taylor Dickinson and Jacob McGavock Dickinson III of Nashville, and three sisters, Elizabeth Dickinson Jackson of Nashville, Ida Dickinson Dunbar of Birmingham, Ala., and Louise Dickinson Webb of Carrollton, Ga. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Police Community Relations in care of Juvenile Court or Calvary Street Ministry Program.
