Myrtle E. Robbins, 83, of North Vernon, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.


Funeral service will be conducted at noon Wednesday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service with the Rev. Edward Wooddell officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Baldwin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County.


Survivors include two sons, Roger (Brenda) Hess of North Vernon and Gerald (Jeanie) Robbins of Pleasureville, Ky.; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Robbins.

Myrtle E. Robbins, 83, of North Vernon, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.


Born March 12, 1930, Myrtle was the daughter of the late Ralph and Opal Paris Hess. She married Oliver Robbins on February 21, 1958. He preceded her in death.


A homemaker, Myrtle was a past member of Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed walking, fishing and listening to country music.


Survivors include two sons, Roger (Brenda) Hess of North Vernon, and Gerald (Jeanie) Robbins of Pleasureville, KY; two grandsons, Eric Hess of Seymour and Joseph Robbins of Pleasureville; three great grandchildren, Hunter Baker, Caitlin and Joshua Mikel-Allen Hess.


In addition to her parents and husband, Myrtle was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Howard and Wilbur Hess; and three sisters, Margret Greeson, Viola (Babe) Schuler and Ruby Ragan.


A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Edward Wooddell will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Baldwin Cemetery.
