Darrell Broughton Campbell was born on the cool, crisp fall day of October 20, 1950, to the union of Elsie P Campbell and John Broughton Campbell (both who preceded him into eternity). Darrell was raised on the south side of Chicago by his loving mother Elsie, and hi stepfather, Rev. James Echols with four siblings; Pamela Mathews, Brian Campbell (who also preceded him into eternity), Steven Campbell and James Echols III.
Darrell attended New Bethel Baptist Church where he accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Dixon Elementary School and graduated with his high scholl diploma from Hales High School. He met and married Duwaine' McClinton; and to this union two children were born, Darrell Campbell Jr. and Toya L. Campbell.
Darrell went on to serve his country in the United States Army from February 9, 1971 through February 8, 1973. He was Honorably Discharged from duty and went on to work at Sears. Darrell worked in various capacities throughout his life such as laborer, businessman, and media sales person. He loved GOD, his family, music, chess and football.
Darrell passed from time into eternity in his home on June 4, 2013.
He leaves to cherish his memory; two children, Darrell Jr. and Toya; one play son, Frank; five grandchildren, two siblings, his step-father, and a host of relatives and friends.
