Rites set Monday for G. W. Works
Funeral services for George W. Works, 81, of 5634 Caruth, veteran Dallas realtor, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday[, Aug. 21, 1961,] in the Restland Funeral Chapel, Greenville and Valley View Lane. The Rev. Don Benton will officiate. Entombment will be in Restland Abbey.

Mr. Works died at his home Friday after a long illness.

In 1941 he was awarded the Easterwood Cup, give annually to the outstanding Dallas realtor. He was a charter member of the Dallas Real Estate Board and served as board president in 1936. He also served on the Dallas City Planning Commission and the Board off Adjustment. He was a charter member of the Munger Place Methodist Church and was an active member of the Highland Park Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife, three sons, G. W. Works, Jr., and R. V. Works of Dallas, and R. B. Works of Houston; four sisters, Mrs. Earl A. Brown of Dallas, Mrs. George Burgess of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Vera Griffin of Riverside, Calif., and Mrs. L. A. Loggins of Houston; one brother, J. M. Works of Corpus Christi, 10 grandchildren and six-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be W. B. Attenbery, A. B. Kimbll, J. M. Stemmons, P. D. Lindsey, Ralph Pearson and M. F. Richardson.—The Dallas Morning News, Aug. 20, 1961; p. 2
