Motion Picture Director. Noted for such films as "The Man Who Came for Coffee," starring Ugo Tognazzi; "The Bandit," starring Anna Magnani; "Tempest," starring Silvana Mangano;" and "Without Pity." In 1950 he co-directed with Federico Fellini the well-received "Variety Lights," starring Giulietta Masina and Peppino De Filippo.
