Enos was the son of Elenor Blair and Ebenezer Scroggs.

He served in Phelps' Regiment, Missouri Infantry, Co. H, September 22 to December 27, 1861. He served in the Army of Southwest Missouri until February, 1862 then in the 2nd Brigade, 4th Division, Army of Southwest Missouri until May, 1862.

Enos served in Curtis' Campaign against Price in Missouri and Arkansas February and March. Actions at Sugar Creek and Bentonville February 17. Battles of Pea Ridge, Ark., March 6-8. Mountain Grove March 9. Mustered out May 13, 1862.

He married Margaret Waddell 10 September 1865 in Walnut Grove Township, Greene County, Missouri. They were the parents of six children who lived to maturity.
