John was born in Charlestown to the late John and Florence (Simpson) Lutes. He attended local schools and later settled with his family in Clinton. He enlisted to proudly serve our nation in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return, John began a career in agriculture while working for the Rauscher Farm in Clinton. For nearly thirty years, he maintained the grounds in Bolton for the farm of Congressman Philip J. Philbin and later for the family of Raymond Salmon. John enjoyed his past years in Orange, where he was active in St. Mary's Church and the King James Court Tenant Association. A Funeral Service will be held at 7PM on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with calling hours prior from 5 until 7PM. A private burial is scheduled at St. John Cemetery in Lancaster.
