Vincent Thomas Sandbothe, age 91, of Coffeyville, Kansas formerly of Neodesha, Kansas died Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Reciting of the Rosary followed by Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 23, 2012 at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Neodesha, Kansas with the Father Stephen Mahn Thapwa officiating under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas.

The family has suggested memorials to the St. Judes Children's Hospital or the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas.

Vincent was born June 24, 1921 in Fredonia, Kansas to Frank and Denna Lock Sandbothe. He grew up in Fredonia, Kansas and attended the Fredonia School System. On June 15, 1942 Vincent entered the United States Navy and served as a Ship Cook 2nd Class on the USS McDougal until his honorable discharge on November 11, 1945.

On July 6, 1946 Vincent married Nancy Buckley in Warrensburg, Illinois. The couple made their home in Neodesha, Kansas. Nancy preceded him in death on September 12, 2002. Vincent worked at the Linn Grain Elevator, owned and operated Sandbothe Liquor in Neodesha, Kansas and also farmed. He was a member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church and his life long passion was dancing.

Survivors include five children Frank Sandbothe of Sherman, Texas, Sharon Oyler of Coffeyville, Kansas, Shirley McPhail of Wichita, Kansas, Mary Hugo of Independence, Kansas and Joe Sandbothe of Neodesha, Kansas one brother Joe Sandbothe of Fredonia, Kansas 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren 1 great great grandchild and companion Opal Burnett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one son Stephen Sandbothe.
