Ann Claire Bailey Hansen passed away peacefully on October 21, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona. Ann was born April 4, 1926 in Logan, Utah, daughter of William Bailey and Chloe Amanda Nelson Bailey. Ann grew up in Nephi, Utah and graduated in the Juab High class of 1942. She developed childhood friendships with many who remained dear to her throughout life.

Ann was the youngest child in a blended family of 10 children. Ann cherished a particularly close relationship with her dear sister Janet, just 18 months older than she.

During high school Ann met and dated her sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Carvel Hansen. Following high school she attended Brigham Young University. Following Ann’s university studies and Bob’s return from military service, they rekindled their romance and were married in the Manti Temple on September 16, 1948.

Shortly after Bob’s graduation from Pharmacy school in 1951, Ann and Bob moved to Cedar City where they made their home, raised their family, and fell in love with the people and places of Southern Utah.

Ann’s greatest joys were as a wife, mother, grandmother, friend and in serving others. She served many years in church and civic responsibilities including as host at the Shakespearean Festival, advisor to Lambda Delta Sigma, and worker in the St. George temple with Bob. Ann was actively involved in raising funds for the Canyon Creek Woman’s Crisis Center. With Bob, Ann was co-founder of the Parkinson’s Association of Southern Utah. As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ann served faithfully wherever she was called.

In 2004 Ann began wintering in Arizona with three of her sons, their wives and families. In time she moved full-time to Arizona where she received daily visits from loved ones who cherished time with her.

Ann is survived by her five children; Heidi (David) Rindlisbacher of Canyon, Texas; Kelly (Francie) Hansen of Layton, Utah; Todd (Sharon) Hansen of Mesa, Arizona; Drew (Penny) Hansen of Gilbert, Arizona; Barry (Joni) Hansen of Gilbert, Arizona; brother-in-law Dr. A.
